Hi, I’m Brian!

I’m a lifelong learner with a background in data and product operations, and I’ve also got some experience as a math tutor. For nearly four years, I worked as a business systems analyst at a health tech startup helping to build out systems, automate workflows, and figure out how to leverage technology to effectively engage health plan members to drive improved health outcomes.

Working alongside engineers gave me an amazing opportunity to see just how software development works, and I gained valuable insight into how cool things could be built to solve some pretty hard problems. I had been curious about how the things we interact with daily in our digital lives work and how they are built, so I decided to dive deeper and learn more on my own.

I’m currently working through freeCodeCamp’s Certified Full Stack Developer Curriculum to learn more web development. I feel like I’ve got a pretty good understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript from working through their curriculum, especially since most of it is project-based learning! This has been useful to me in my professional career as I really needed to know some HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to work on some projects.

I have experience developing and implementing solutions with Google Apps Script that automated tedious tasks and added feature enhancements to Google Sheets to improve operational workflows. I’ve also found Google Apps Script to be beneficial in my own personal life, like creating a script to automatically download data sent to me in Gmail! I wanted to explore more outside of Google Apps Script so I decided to create this website.

I first built this website to see if I could do it. I had a very basic version of this website up before this current version along with a simple HTML, CSS, and JavaScript project that proved to me that I could, in fact, do it. Now that I have deployed this updated version, I want to document this learning journey and show the cool things I’m working on in my free time. I’ll continue to develop my skills in Google Apps Script and I’ll also build other cool projects outside of that platform. This will also help me practice problem solving, which I think is pretty cool because who doesn’t love a good puzzle?! Oh! And I’m also interested in learning how to build and problem solve with AI 🤖!

I may not be an expert, but I’m here to learn, build, make mistakes, and share what I figure out along the way!
